Delivery
How BuildBarn delivery review works
What to prepare when an order includes long, bulky or mixed building materials.
Why review matters
Building materials are often long, heavy or awkward to handle. Delivery review is there to check the practical details around the list before anyone treats it like a simple parcel order. The more complete the notes, the fewer assumptions sit inside the request.
- Long lengths
- Mixed materials
- Restricted access
- Unloading notes
- Project timing notes
Notes to prepare
- Longest item length
- Bulky or heavy item notes
- Street access notes
- Driveway or site access notes
- Preferred receiving area
- Any timing constraints to discuss during review
A practical review flow
- 1Build the material list
Start with the products, categories or calculator output that describe the job.
- 2Add handling notes
Flag long lengths, heavy items and mixed materials before review.
- 3Describe access
Write down the street, driveway and unloading conditions in plain language.
- 4Confirm the next step
Use the review response to refine the order or quote request before committing.
Write plain site notes
The best notes are boring and specific. For example: narrow driveway, limited turning space, long boards, or preferred unloading area. Avoid guessing what vehicle is needed. Just describe what the site is like.
Delivery review questions
Should I include photos?
Photos can help when access is hard to explain, especially for narrow entries or unloading areas.
Do I need exact timing in the guide notes?
Use timing notes as context for review. Final arrangements should come from the confirmed order or quote process.
What if I am not sure about access?
Say that in the notes. Unclear access is better flagged early than hidden in the order details.
Add delivery notes to the request
Prepare the list, then include access and handling notes before asking for review.
